Snow Flower and the Secret Fan

Where we are staying there is a lovely two-tier kiddie pool in which my children cannot drown or otherwise slay themselves which means that I have been able to read. I just finished Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. I very much enjoyed it. It is set in the days of foot-binding and arranged marriages and is narrated by a woman in her 80s looking back at her life and her regrets. It is written beautifully and completely engaged me.

In my previous life (B.C. - before children), I was a college English teacher, specializing in composition and ESL composition.
